Carlos Gomes
Born in 1969 in Barreiro, Portugal. Director, producer and video artist. Graduated as an Architect from the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, in 1995. Co-founder, in 1996, of the Atelier M.G.C. Arquitectos. Master of Arts in Scenography from the Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, London 2003, with a scholarship granted by the Portuguese Department of Culture. Studied Theater and Dance and was actor and dancer. Signed several set designs, namely for Clara Andermatt: “Uma História da Dúvida”, with première at the Festival “Mergulho no Futuro” – EXPO’98, “NeatNet”, in 2002, at Ballet Gulbenkian, and “Silêncio” in 2006, at Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) in Lisbon. In September 2001 attended a multimedia workshop with the British artistic group “Igloo” at Fundação Gulbenkian, where he started developing his work in video. The final project of the Masters degree in London was “Third Nature”- a video installation for three screens. Between 2007 and 2009 directed and produced the artistic project “People from the House – monitoring an architectural work”, that included an exhibition, a book, and a film, with the support of DGArtes (Portuguese Department of Culture). The film premiered at the festival DocLisboa in 2009. In 2012 he filmed and directed "SYRIA", a hybrid short film between documentary film and video art, which was part of the Portuguese selection in the 2012 edition of “Fuso Festival”. In 2013 he was the producer and curator of "Portugal - Diverse Perspectives on a Diverse Territory", a Portuguese documentary film exhibition as part of the official program of the “Portuguese Year in Brazil”. Recently he directed the videos for the exhibition commemorating 20 years of work of the Portuguese architectural studio ARX, presented in Centro Cultural de Belem. With Fran Lopez Reyes he directed UMA PROJECT, which resulted in a film documentary and a video installation. The video installation has been presented in Athens, Milan, Madrid, Camaguey-Cuba, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, México DF, Huelva, Lima and Cusco-Perú. He is now preparing his third documentary film: “ Al Mutamid, The Poet King of the Al Andalus”.

Fran López Reyes
Born in 1977 in Huelva, Spain. Director and video artist.Studies Sociology at the Universidad de Granada, attends two stages at the Complutense University of Madrid and in Universidade Milano Bicocca, actively collaborated with Davide Ferrario and the professor Cristiano Mutti at the Laboratorio de Sociologia Visual. As director and holder of a scholarship, worked on a documentary project with the Museo della fotografía di Milano, about the public work of art “Salviamo la luna” by the renowned German artist Jochen Gerz, thereby becoming acquainted with the audiovisual direction and production techniques. Enlarges his knowledge as director of photography and film editor within the multidisciplinary group Trecelágrimas based on Madrid, where he cooperates with graphic artists, photographers and art directors. Presently works at Cires21, a company that develops audiovisual technologies. In parallel collaborates with several agencies, record labels, production companies, and public entities directing audiovisual projects of diverse nature. With Carlos he directed UMA PROJECT, which resulted in a film documentary and a video installation. The video installation has been presented in Athens, Milan, Madrid, Camaguey-Cuba, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, México DF, Huelva, Lima and Cusco-Perú.

Miguel Robalo
Photography Director. A talented expert in light for cinema. He attended the Cinema Course of the Lisbon School of Theatre and Cinema between 89/92 in the image area. In his professional experience as an image assistant, participated in many long films with directors as Manoel de Oliveira, João César Monteiro, Walter Salles Jr., Eric Barbier and Joaquim Sapinho, among others. In recent years he has been involved as a Photography Director in documentary works as "Parto", "Gesto" and "A Parte Essencial" by Antonio Borges Correia, "Uma Project" by Carlos Gomes and Fran Lopez Reyes, "EN-ES " by Pedro Sena Nunes and "Gezo Marques" by Nuno Baltazar. He also made the photography for the short film "O Cheiro das velas” by Adriana Martins.

Raquel Jacinto
Direct Sound. Born in Lisbon in 1970. She has been working in the sound department of films since 1994 when she finished film school. Systematic person and really focused on her passion, she also directed two short films “Hora d´Almoço” and “A6-13” and taught sound. For the past years she has been working exclusively as a sound director mainly in fiction such as: “Guerra Cilvil” by Pedro Caldas and “Cerro Negro” (Short film) by João Salaviza, documentary such as “Waiting For Europe”, by Christine Reeh and most lately also worked in publicity.

Barbara Viseu
Executive Producer. Graduated in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Applied Psychology. Starts his professional career in 1994 as a production assistant on the record label Strauss, Music and Video. Since 1999, she developed several projects in the areas of marketing, public relations and production in several companies such as OFF Productions, Praça das Flores, Capella and Portugaler, Transformadores, MusicBox, Duplacena and Alfama Films.

Vasco Pimentel
Sound Mixing. One of the most experienced sound directors of the Portuguese cinema. Recently he was the sound director in “TABU”, the internationally acclaimed last feature film of the Portuguese director Miguel Gomes. Since 1979, Vasco has constantly worked as assistant, "Foley Artist", Sound Director, Editor (Image and Sound) and Sound Mixer in more than 130 feature films, of many international and Portuguese directors such as the following: Samuel Fuller, Raúl Ruiz Werner Schroeter, Fred Kelemen, Wim Wenders, Lilly Grote, Vincent Gallo, João César Monteiro, Manoel de Oliveira, Paulo Rocha, Maria de Medeiros, Teresa Villaverde, João Nicolau, José Nascimento, Raquel Freire, Catarina Ruivo, Inês Oliveira, Danièle Dubroux e Miguel Gomes.

Santiago Albert
Sound Design. Telecommunications Engineer focused in sound and image signals. His working experience includes Sound Design in several video games, technical installations for advertising events, film and television commercials. He worked in the video game industry as Audio Engineer at Electronic Arts over 20 titles before go to Sound Design Projects for several independent companies in the gaming industry. Nominated for best music and sound by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences of Spain in 2013 for Oddland: the videogame from G4M3 studios.

Curator in South America Tour. Born in Madrid, Spain, 1979. Artist, curator and creative, graduated in fine arts University UPV (Spain). founder of the experimental art space espaciomenosuno, Madrid, from 2000-10. Co-founder of In-Sonora, displays and interactive sound art from 2005 to 2010. At present Mario is in charge of Kreæ [institute of contemporary creation], from 2010-14. Margarida Moreno
Head of UMA organization.Born in 1968 in Marinha Grande and living in Grândola since 1970, graduated in Physical Education and Sport and held a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Management at the Faculdade de Motricidade Humana em Grândola. Head of Sports Division in the Municipality of Grândola, since 1992, she is the head of the Atlantic Ultra Marathon organization. Fan of racing, athletics, she held in 1987 the 1st Raid Pedestrian Troy - Melides, keeping up to knowadays a very special affection for Atlantic Ultra Marathon and enormous respect and consideration for all athletes who have participated in it.

Joana Linda
Lisbon, 1980. She began its journey in 2001 in photography, in which the area would be known not only for its artistic work as well as work on the documentary film festivals , such as ' Festival of Italian Cinema ' and more recently the cycle ' in Harvard Gulbenkian ' . Essentially autobiographical and centered in the female body , your images make up a kind of visual diary of events , successes and frustrations that keeps so many years many began shooting . In the last year has also been linked to the documentation of historically important spaces in Lisbon that have been disappearing , stand out exhibitions and work in the Bookstore Sá da Costa ( ' Foxes ', ' Island' ) and the Hospital of the Exile ( ' Exile ' ) . In 2008 , the photographic work also extended the video with the project " The Seven Sisters " . That same year , he directed the music video " Bird On Your Grave " to the American songwriter Marissa Nadler has since collaborated with several local musicians in making videos for their songs . Also collaborates frequently in the area of fashion with the creative Fernanda Pereira , Lara Torres , LadyBug and Ursotigre . More recently, it has developed an important work in the area of design , drawing posters such as Portuguese film: " Rafa " by John Salaviza , "It's Love " by John Canijo , " Captivity " by André Gil Mata , " Morning Light " Claudia Varejao or " Versailles "by Carlos Conceição . The aesthetic and thematic outlined early in his photographic work defiled their incursions into other artistic areas and in 2013 finished his first short film , ' In Every Home A Perfect Heart Undone ' that had national premiere in Luso - Brazilian Festival of Santa Maria da Feira .

Eusebio Rosa
Born in Almada, (Lisbon), 1968, August 25. As a runner, he has a very own technique and an impressive psychological strength. Eusébio has a winning mentality, but also a remarkable humility. He has won UMA for six times and holds the incredible record of 2:46:30, held in 2012.

Custodio Antonio
Born in Sines, Portugal, January 1, 1977. Professional military. He developed his passion for sports from a young age. He was a lifeguard on “Melides“ beach before following on the military career. Currently lives in the city of Setúbal, just in front of Troia Peninsula. In 2009 he won the race.

Rui Freitas
Born in Mozambique in 1953, having immigrated to Portugal after the war of independence. He works as an assistant in a public school and participates in activities with young people to disseminate the sports practise. He lives in Grândola where he is affectionately known as Mr Rui.

Analice Silva
Born in a town called “Esperança” in Brazil. She is a reference for amateur athletes around the world. An example of overcoming through sports. Recently, in her 69 years of age, one of his dreams come true: to run the "Marathon des Sables". Running for 250kmon the Sahara desert, Moroccan part. She lives in Odivelas, on the outskirts of Lisbon.

Yonatan Martin
Born in Salamanca, Spain, November 29, 1980. Cycling and athletics are his passion. Currently he works in his own company, organizing sports events. Participated twice in UMA, in 2013 and in 2011, when we met him in Seville and invited him to participate in the documentary.

Ermelindo Nunes
Born in Comporta, Portugal, July 3, 1957. He has is own enterprise of gardening. Defines him self as a son of that specific region, “a man on his land”. He is known for organizing a half-marathon in his hometown, Comporta. He has participated several times in UMA, always with great will and joy for running at the territory where he was bon.

Joaquin Severino
Born in Comporta, Portugal, 15 October 1949. He is an amateur but federated. He was a Guard in “Pinheiro da Cruz” Prison, for 30 years. Participated twice in UMA and he was the first athlete the film directors met. He was the one that introduces us to the race and a specific point of view towards that territory.

Vitor Pereira
Born in France, June 25, 1976. His parents were Portuguese emigrants in France. It is one of the few athletes who participated and completed all the editions of the Atlantic Ultra Marathon since 2005. His best ranking was a 9th place. It is one of the best runners in his region. Cheerful and very positive combines a large capacity for sacrifice with a strong spirit of friendship.
